Results 1st phase:
over the 19-month duration of the project, 3,323 children underwent echo-cardiographic screening, of whom 168 were found to have rheumatic heart disease and 31 to have congenital heart disease. On the other hand, 460 children received support with supplementary feeding, while approximately 50 patients of various ages underwent dialysis for chronic or acute kidney failure.

Results 2nd phase:
continuing the measures carried out since 2019, the renewed effort in Eritrea is focused on the prevention of rheumatic heart disease through screening and life-saving operations, particularly for children, and the treatment of kidney failure through dialysis.
