On the night of March 1–2, Lebanon was hit by large-scale bombings and air strikes, particularly affecting the southern neighborhoods of the capital. The escalation of the conflict forced thousands of families to flee their homes, seeking shelter in other cities or in temporary reception centers.
Many displaced families have taken refuge in Zahle, in the Beqaa Valley, where schools and public buildings have been opened to host people fleeing the violence. These locations provide only basic services and often lack kitchens, while movement across the country is increasingly difficult and dangerous.
In this fragile context, access to food has become one of the most urgent needs, especially for children and vulnerable families.

Emergency response and field support
To respond to this situation and do our part in this humanitarian crisis, Mission Bambini is supporting its local partner Annas Linnas Association, a member of the LEARN network, in delivering emergency assistance to displaced families.
With this support, an emergency kitchen was activated in Zahle, where volunteers prepare and distribute meals to people who cannot cook or access food. The intervention primarily reaches families sheltering in schools and temporary reception centers, with particular attention to children and the most vulnerable.
At the same time, Annas Linnas has carried out several first-assistance activities in different areas of the country: distributing sandwiches and drinks to displaced people in Beirut, medicines and clothing in schools hosting displaced families in Mount Lebanon, and mattresses, blankets and essential supplies to families sheltering in Zahle and the Beqaa Valley.
Thanks to the support received so far and the work of local volunteers, essential aid has already reached many families affected by the crisis.
Mission Bambini continues to stay in close contact with its local partner to monitor the situation of displaced families and support relief efforts in the most affected areas.
Every contribution can help provide meals and essential supplies to families currently living in temporary shelters.
